Boro boy turns little devil.


A NUNTHORPE boy has fulfilled the dream of just about every lad in this country.

Andrew Clough, 10, stepped onto the hallowed Wembley turf on Sunday - and then got a signed ball from '66 World Cup hero Sir Geoff Hurst Sir Geoffrey Charles Hurst, MBE (born December 8, 1941 in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire) is a legend of West Ham and England football, he is also a footballer enshrined in the game's history as the only player to have scored a hat-trick in a World Cup final. !

Andrew, of Brass Castle Park, won a competition to be a match mascot at the Community Shield clash between Manchester United and Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

He said: "I had to design a football kit to win. The prize was brilliant.

As part of the prize, the youngster also got to be part of a question and answer session with Sir Geoff Hurst, who noticed the Boro lad was wearing a shirt with Clough and the number nine on the back.

The Nunthorpe under-10s player is an ardent Middlesbrough fan, but switched allegiances on Sunday to cheer for United.

The Red Devils were beaten on penalties in the end, but not after Andrew, mum Lucy, a human resources The fancy word for "people." The human resources department within an organization, years ago known as the "personnel department," manages the administrative aspects of the employees.  consultant, five-year-old sister Alice and grandad Tom had all enjoyed a capital day out.

Lucy, 33, told the Gazette: "We had a wonderful day, it was so great seeing him go out there on the pitch, it's the sort of thing that will stay with him forever."

Dad David, 36, was working away with his job as a site engineer, but was the one to break the news to an ecstatic Andrew.

Lucy added: "It's a once in a lifetime event something like this, I'm just so glad he's has such a great memory of the whole experience."
