"When you are competing against large market incumbents, it is critical to create competitive advantage through software innovations and quick response. Whether in uniquely solving customer needs, adapting to changing market conditions or delivering on market requirements -- speed of response often has a huge impact on your success," said Scott Pickett, Chief Technology Officer of Vertical Communications, Inc. "Having the right processes and systems in place to reduce development risk and promote distributed software development, collaboration and reuse greatly helps us to quickly build innovative products and be the first to meet customer and market demands. Borland's solution was exactly in line with our development strategy."

"Software development is becoming more and more complex -- from increasingly stringent compliance standards to the communication and logistical challenges of distributed development," said Marc Brown, senior director of product marketing at Borland. "With this in mind, it is essential for organizations to have the right processes and technologies in place to mitigate this complexity and respond more effectively to changing business demands. We are pleased to be working with Vertical to help improve their software delivery process, making it a sustainable competitive advantage."
