Borland's Paradox 5.0 For Windows Wins InfoWorld Programmable Database Roundup; Paradox Windows Beats Microsoft Access in Head-to-Head Testing.


SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 1995--Borland International Inc.'s Paradox 5.0 for Windows outperformed Microsoft Access A database program for Windows, available separately or included in the Microsoft Office suite. Access is programmable using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Access can read Paradox, dBASE and Btrieve files, and using ODBC, Microsoft SQL Server, SYBASE SQL Server and Oracle data.  and one other product as the winner of InfoWorld Magazine's Programmable Windows Database Roundup (issue dated March 20, 1995). Paradox for Windows received an overall score of 8.4, compared to a 7.8 score for Microsoft s Access and a 4.9 for Alpha Software Corporation s Alpha 5 for Windows.
