Boris tells of infidelity while wife in labour.

I loved Boris Becker's tennis and enjoyed his jubilant face when he won. Loved it so much that I was prepared to accept his "sex in the cupboard" episode as a single fall from grace, especially when he accepted the consequent child and showed remorse for the wrong done to his wife.

Now though, his autobiography diminishes both him and the pleasure I felt at his tennis prowess.

It describes how, slightly drunk, he allowed his wife to go alone to hospital for the birth of their child.

"Ring me if I'm needed," he said, and then went out to a nightclub, where he had sex with someone he'd just met. Some infidelities may be forgivable. Infidelity with a stranger while your wife strains in the labour ward falls into the unforgivable category for me.

And telling the world the gory details, in a book your children will undoubtedly read one day, seems even worse.
