What: As kids race to bookstores around the world to celebrate
the release of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,"
Borders knows that not all kids will have the opportunity
to attend "Midnight Magic" parties July 15 or get their
hands on the new book at the stroke of midnight July 16.
So, the global retailer is bringing the book and the fun
to them. Specifically, Borders will bring the magic of
Harry Potter directly to children at Morgan Stanley
Children's Hospital of NewYork-Presbyterian with a
donation of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince"
books. Borders will also recreate its in-store "Midnight
Magic" parties, including fun activities, face painting
and other Harry Potter-related magic for children who
would otherwise miss out on the fun. Borders Group CEO
Greg Josefowicz will be on hand for the event.
