After the fire of 1805, Campus Martius (from the Latin for Field of Mars, where Roman heroes walked) was the focal point of judge Augustus Woodward's plans to rebuild the city. . The new Borders will offer downtown residents and commuters a comfortable and convenient place to explore a selection of thousands of book, music, DVD DVD: see digital versatile disc.

The downtown Detroit location was selected by Borders based on a variety of factors including the area's strong daytime population, which includes a base of more than 4,100 Compuware employees.
