Borders(R) Opens New Airport Stores in Phoenix and Cincinnati.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Borders Group, Inc., (NYSE:BGP) a leading global retailer of books, music and movies, opened two new stores this fall in:

--Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, a 1,429-square-foot store in terminal four.

--Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, a 1,137-square-foot store in concourse C.

The stores feature bestsellers and key titles for leisure and business travelers. Both locations offer over 5,000 book titles, including audio books, a limited selection of magazine and newspaper titles, and top selling CD titles in an award-winning retail format. The store in Phoenix Sky Harbor also carries top selling DVDs and has soft seating available for customers who would like to sit comfortably while enjoying the store.

This is the first Borders airport store to open in Phoenix Sky Harbor International and the second to open in Cincinnati, Ohio. Borders also operates stores in airports located in Orlando, Seattle, Newark, Boston, Houston, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C. and in Baltimore, Maryland.

"Airport Revenue News" (ARN), a national monthly trade publication that focuses on providing quality news and information about air travel and airports, awarded Borders second place in the categories of "Best Airport Retailer" and "Retailer with the Highest Regard for Customer Service," in 2005.
