TOTTENHAM manager Harry Redknapp has been warned to keep Roman Pavlyuchenko on his toes by the Russian striker's former boss.

Vladimir Fedotov, who was at Spartak Moscow with the 26-year-old, said: "If he is not in the right mood, he is an absolute disaster. He becomes a sap.

"I had to shout at him or even slap him sometimes."

And Pavlyuchenko will have other things on his mind after winning a seat on a Russian regional council.

Standing for Vladimir Putin's United Russia party, he was elected in Stavropol Krai, south west Russia, saying: "It won't be easy, but I am ready to help with advice and make a contribution to the development possibilities for exercise and sport."
