Boost for new births.


THE maternity unit at New Cross Hospital, in Wolverhampton, has invested in new birth equipment.

Manufactured in Germany, the futuristic fu·tur·is·tic

 looking device is a supportive structure that keeps women in labour more comfortable and in the optimal position for labour and birth.

The unit now has two of the devices, one on the Delivery Suite and one in Maternity Triage.

At New Cross the team has also purchased a wireless fetal monitor Noun 1. fetal monitor - an electronic monitor that monitors fetal heartbeat and the mother's uterine contractions during childbirth

 in line with the commitment to keeping women mobile whilst in labour and this works well with the new equipment.

A hospital spokesman said: "The team is committed to keeping birth as normal as possible."
