Boost Mobile is the first U.S. wireless operation to use mobile phone ringtones as a tool to generate donations for the disaster relief effort. Boost Mobile's tsunami relief ringtone effort follows on the organization's highly successful "Anthem" charity campaign, which has raised more than $50,000 to date from the sale of ringtones to benefit youth development programs.

"We believe that American youth are actively seeking ways to contribute to the relief effort," said Don Girskis, vice president and general manager, Boost Mobile. "The positive response we received from young people around the U.S. to our Anthem charity effort prompted us to once again utilize ringtone sales as a vehicle for philanthropic giving. All Boost proceeds from the ringtone sales will be donated to U.S. Fund for UNICEF, so the more we can raise awareness and sales of the ringtones, the more we can help UNICEF's relief work to this unprecedented emergency."

Boost Mobile's website (www.boostmobile.com) includes a "B-Zone" webpage where online visitors can preview the ringtones that will be donated to UNICEF's tsunami relief program, as well as a link to donate to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. The initial catalog of ringtones will feature 10 polyphonic The ability to play back some number of musical notes simultaneously.
