SAN LEANDRO, Calif. -- BoomerangIt, the leading global lost and found return service, has signed an exclusive licensing agreement that will bring its services to bicycle owners in Israel. Operating as BoomerangIt Israel, the new company will market and sell BoomerangIt as a nationwide bicycle registration and recovery service, creating the only bike registry of its kind in Israel.

BoomerangIt Israel was formed by Avi Ganor, publisher of Bicycle magazine, Israel's first bicycle lifestyle magazine. According to Ganor, a quarter of a million new bikes, many of them sophisticated and expensive, are sold each year in Israel. As bike ownership has increased in Israel, so has bike theft and loss. With BoomerangIt's service, Israeli bike owners can protect their investment and significantly increase the likelihood of getting their stolen bike back.

BoomerangIt Israel allows bicycle owners to register their bikes at low cost online, by phone, or by mail, and then apply serialized, tamper-resistant ID labels to the bikes. If the bicycle should be lost or stolen, it can be easily identified and returned to the owner when recovered by police or a Good Samaritan. Following the instructions from the label, finders simply contact BoomerangIt Israel, which then arranges for the return - promptly and confidentially.

With the BoomerangIt Israel service, a three-year subscription can be purchased for 49 shekels (about US $10). Discounts are given to members of the Israel Bike Federation.
