MVS/ESA - Multiple Virtual Storage 5.1, IMS/ESA 5.1 and CICS/ESA CICS/ESA Customer Information Control System/Enterprise Systems Architecture (IBM) 4.1 with its proven multisystem exception management capabilities.
The new release adds significant ease-of-use enhancements to its features proven to promote rapid implementation and simple maintenance. According to John Connor, director of marketing for automation products, "AutoOPERATOR 3.1.0 requires substantially lower system and personnel resources as it helps customers quickly achieve integrated, automated management of large MVS, CICS (Customer Information Control System) A TP monitor from IBM that was originally developed to provide transaction processing for IBM mainframes. It controls the interaction between applications and users and lets programmers develop screen displays without , IMS (1) See IP Multimedia Subsystem.
(2) (Information Management System) An early IBM hierarchical DBMS for IBM mainframes. IMS was widely implemented throughout the 1970s under MVS and continues to be used under z/OS. and DB2 environments."
For improved security, AutoOPERATOR 3.1.0 utilizes SAF to provide a fine granularity of authorization control. Customers may now extend the benefits of popular external security packages by using RACF (Resource Access Control Facility) IBM mainframe security software introduced in 1976 that verifies user ID and password and controls access to authorized files and resources.
RACF - Resource Access Control Facility , CA-ACF2 or CA-TOP SECRET to authorize AutoOPERATOR use.
AutoOPERATOR now monitors the health of IBM CICSPlex System Manager (CICSPlex SM) and reports on CICS error conditions that are detected by CICSPlex SM. This advanced monitoring will be a huge asset to users as they begin to implement the complex CICSPlex SM product in their environments.
The new Automation Reporter provides data to help customers evaluate the efficiency of the automation activities they have implemented. The Automation Reporter tracks and collects data for reporting the type and amount of automation implemented in a given system. The data it stores can be imported into spreadsheet tools to show resource utilization and other information pertinent to automation efficiency.
