) today announced that it will provide an online Web simulcast of its first-quarter 2005 conference call on Wednesday, May 19, 2004. The Company will release results for the first quarter ended May 1, 2004, that afternoon.

The live broadcast of Books-A-Million's conference call will begin at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time (4:00 p.m. Central Time) on May 19, 2004. The link to this event may be found at the Company's website: www.booksamillioninc.com.

If you are unable to participate at that time, an online replay will be available two hours after the call ends and will continue through June 19, 2004.
