) today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized the Company to purchase up to an additional 900,000 shares of its common stock under its existing stock repurchase plan stock repurchase plan

. Under the stock repurchase plan, the Company was previously authorized to purchase up to 1,800,000 shares of common stock. The Company will acquire the shares of common stock in open-market and negotiated purchases, from time to time as market conditions warrant, at prices the Company deems appropriate. Books-A-Million currently has approximately 16.6 million shares outstanding.
