This new offering once again follows the lives of four women in San Francisco - a homicide detective, an assistant district attorney, a medical examiner and a newspaper reporter - who come together to use their expertise and talents in their respective fields to solve murder cases.

Lindsay Boxer is our heroine, a detective investigating a sequence of fatal arson attacks across the city. Lindsay is also probing the intriguing disappearance of Michael Campion campion: see pink.

It's better if you've read the first six and got to know the characters, but still a good read anyway. *****
