Book covers History of NC.

Retired General Electric staffer Richard A. Thomas, in conjunction with the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, has compiled a book-length manuscript called a History of Numerical Control for Machine Tools. The 360-page work draws heavily on the role of GE but also includes events from the late 1940s through the mid-1980s at such organizations as IITRI and the Numerical Control Society.

The work is being self-published by Dick Thomas (richard, thomas@case.edu). It's now available on CD in Acrobat format for $15, and arrangements are being made to provide printed copies.

Richard Thomas, Harrisonburg, Va. 540-568-8671.
