The lights are low, the beats are pumping and the disco ball is flicking flashes of brilliance on the dance floor. No, it's not 2am at one of Dubai's packed nightclubs; its 2pm on a Saturday afternoon at the super-chic spot Plan B at Wafi - and the dancers are toddlers and their parents. Baby Loves Disco is a new concept to Dubai that allows parents and their kids to socialise, have some fun and stay fit and healthy in an entertaining environment. It was set up three years ago in the US by parents Heather Murphy and Andy Blackman Hurwitz, but the idea has since spread like wildfire. Today, this entirely parent-run network of local mums and dads throughout the world, host sell out events across America, the UK, Japan, Norway, Sweden and Hong Kong to name a few locations. In London events are currently sold out until November and tickets are so sought after they are even being traded on eBay.Thanks to Dubai-based mother of two, Emma Scorpo, Baby Loves Disco is about to strut its stuff at its first ever event in Dubai too. "When visiting London earlier this year all my friends were talking about this Baby Loves Disco event from the US, which often had a waiting list of three months to attend," says Scorpo, Baby Loves Disco event organiser in the UAE.

"The minute I heard about it, I knew it was absolutely perfect for Dubai. There are so many expatriates living here, who are looking for out of the ordinary weekend fun and the chance to enjoy some quality time with their kids and friends." Launching next month and taking place at Plan B nightclub at Wafi, Baby Loves Disco, promises to be an afternoon of fun for parents and kids up to the age of seven. The club will be decked out with disco lights, bubbles, magicians, face painters and toys, as well as a chill out room with beanbags and yummy food to keep everyone dancing in peak condition.Babyshop, who are sponsoring the event, will provide each child with a goody bag and the opportunity to win fantastic prizes every hour with their babyshop dance competition, while renowned Dubai DJ Chris Fisher will be spinning dance hits of the 70s, 80s and 90s to get those little booties moving and grooving.AaAa "What's exciting about Baby Loves Disco is its appeal to both parents and their kids," explains Scorpo.Aa "Parents can have a dance to tunes that take them back to their time on the disco circuit, but they can also meet up with friends and like-minded parents too, while watching their children and have a absolute ball on the dance floor.Aa "Children love to dance and thrive on the happy vibe that an event like Baby Loves Disco creates. DJ Chris Fisher will be spinning tunes from Gloria Gaynor to Scissor Sisters, so make sure that you and your kids have your dancing shoes on.
