BONO sent an apology to fellow Irish rockers The Script for missing their New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of gig - with cases of Guinness and bubbly.

The 49-year-old told the band - who are supporting U2 in Dublin this summer - that he would catch them playing the Big Apple's Roseland Ballroom.

But when he realised he "had a conflicting engagement" he sent the booze to help the band to celebrate.

One insider said: "Bono sure knows how to say sorry."
