Bono's role in Pavarotti tribute gig; HONOUR.

ROCKER Bono is to take part in a concert next month to honour legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti.

Some of the world's biggest stars, including Sting, Jose Carreras and Andrea Bocelli, will perform at the charity event in the ancient city of Petra, Jordan.

The line-up was revealed by Pavarotti's widow Nicoletta Mantovani.

She said: "It was Luciano's dream to sing in Petra."

Proceeds will aid thousands of Afghan refugees who have decided to return to their home villages.
