Bonaire launches Facebook & Twitter.


Tourism Corp. Bonaire Bonaire (bônĕr`), island (1990 est. pop. 11,000), 112 sq mi (290 sq km), in the Netherlands Antilles, West Indies. Kralendijk is the chief town. Tourism is the economic mainstay, though salt mining is also a significant industry.  on May 4 said it launched its new interactive fan pages on social network websites Facebook A social networking site founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg. It initially targeted Harvard students, but was later opened to other universities and then high schools. In 2006, Facebook allowed everyone to join and also added a News Feed feature that would broadcast changes in members'  and Twitter A Web site and service that lets users send short text messages from their cellphones to a group of friends.
