Bombardier to fill order.


Bombardier Transportation Bombardier Transportation is the rail equipment division of the Bombardier group. Bombardier Transportation is the world’s largest company in the rail equipment manufacturing and servicing industry. Its headquarters are in Berlin.  has received an order from the Toronto Transit Authority (Go Transit GO Transit (AAR reporting marks GOT), officially known as the Greater Toronto Transit Authority (GTTA), is Canada's first, and Ontario's only, interregional public transit system, established to link Toronto with the surrounding regions of the Greater Toronto ) to supply 10 additional Bombardier BiLevel commuter rail vehicles Rail vehicles are vehicles capable of rolling on rail tracks. This includes:
  • locomotives
  • rolling stock
  • Passenger cars
 to Go Transit's existing fleet of 361 cars.

The contract, valuing $26.1 million (Cdn), calls for the design, manufacturing and delivery of the new commuter vehicles. The vehicles will be manufactured at Bombardier's Thunder Bay plant, with production beginning in early spring.
