DB AG, DBAG or simply DB) is the successor of the former state railways of Germany: the Deutsche Bundesbahn of West Germany, the Deutsche Reichsbahn of the German Democratic Republic and the West Berlin VdeR.  for the supply of 117 double-deck vehicles.

This represents the exercise of the last portion of an option based on a contract signed in 1996 for the supply of 250 of these vehicles. This option brings the total number of vehicles ordered by Deutsche Bahn within the framework of this contract to 700.

The value of this order is approximately Cdn$165 million (117 million Euro). The double-deck vehicles will be built by Bombardier Transportation in Gorlitz, Germany. Deliveries will start in the last quarter of 2001 and be completed by mid-2003. The vehicles will be put into service on regional traffic lines in various German federal states.
