The order, valued at approximately $14.2 million, represents the third and last lot of an option for 55 coaches. This option is held by NJ TRANSIT under a contract which was signed in January 1995 and involved the initial supply of 40 vehicles. The 15 additional coaches will be manufactured by Bombardier at its Barre, Vermont and La Pocatiere, Quebec facilities. Deliveries are expected to begin in April 1997. Bombardier has been a supplier of NJ TRANSIT since the early 1980s. With the delivery of the new order, the total of commuter coaches supplied to this transportation corporation will reach 308 units.
