Bombardier Transportation Bombardier Transportation is the rail equipment division of the Bombardier group. The vehicles allow level boarding even from the new platform height of only 350 mm in the Istanbul city centre. This contract underlines once more the success of Bombardier Transportation's low-floor vehicle concept. The vehicles for Istanbul are based on the vehicles for Cologne (K 4000), Croydon and Stockholm. At 30 m length they offer a total passenger capacity of 272. An air-conditioned vehicle interior and increased space for standees are only some of the features that respond to Istanbul's particular requirements.
