.A.)(TSE:BBD.B.) has been awarded a further contract from Docklands Light Railway in London, England for the delivery of 12 automatic metro cars.

This contract, which represents the conversion of an existing option, is valued at approximately Cdn$31 million (14 million pounds sterling). The new vehicles will be manufactured in the Bruges plant, in Belgium. Deliveries will be made from January 2002 to March 2002.

The Docklands Light Railway system is already equipped with 70 Bombardier Transportation vehicles supplied from January 1991 to March 1993. An additional 12 cars were ordered in January 2000.

The system links the centre of London to the Docklands area, situated to the east, and is the first public transport system in England that has been totally computerized and operates without drivers. A 4.2 km extension of the network to Lewisham was inaugurated on November 22 1999, serving the south of the Thames, including Greenwich and the historic Cutty Sark Cutty Sark
