Bombardier Receives Three Aircraft Repeat Order From Midway Airlines For Canadair Regional Jet.

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 7, 1998--Bombardier Aerospace(TSE:BBD.A.) (ME:BBD.A.) (TSE:BBD.B.) (ME:BBD.B.) Midway Airlines Corporation has signed an order for three additional Canadair Regional Jet Series 200ER aircraft with Bombardier Aerospace.

The $64 million U.S. ($98 million Cdn.) contract value represents the conversion of three existing options to firm orders and calls for aircraft deliveries in December 1999 and February and March 2000.

The Raleigh-Durham-based airline initially ordered 10 CRJ Series 200s in the fall of 1997. Since that time, including today's announcement, the airline has converted options and increased its firm orders to 23. To date, nine CRJ Series 200 aircraft have been delivered to Midway Airlines.

Midway Airlines' growing CRJ fleet is used to increase service and expand into new markets from its Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina hub. The airline operates 126 daily non-stop flights between 17 East Coast destinations and its Raleigh-Durham hub.

Bombardier's Canadair Regional Jet orderbook now stands at 434 firm orders for the 50-seat Series 100 and 200 models plus 71 firm orders for the 70-seat CRJ Series 700. CRJ Series 700 deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2001.
