The agreement was signed after Rainbow Jet passed a technical audit conducted by Shell Aircraft International, based in London.

"This is a significant win both for us at Rainbow Jet and also for the Chinese corporate aviation community as well. Through our dedicated efforts and with the support from Bombardier Flexjet Asia-Pacific, we are well on our way towards establishing Rainbow Jet as the premier business aircraft charter operator in the region," said Mr. Bai Wei San, president, Rainbow Jet.

"Moreover, this is also an important development for the Chinese corporate aviation industry. It sends a strong signal to Western corporations that the Chinese corporate aviation community can supply safe and reliable on-demand air transportation using modern aircraft backed by top quality maintenance, support and service," he added.

Since taking delivery of its first Bombardier Challenger 604 in April, Rainbow Jet has established several "firsts" in Chinese corporate aviation charter; namely, flying the first Chinese-registered business aircraft into India and the first Challenger 604 jet into Japan.

"Bombardier's focus is to provide the assistance necessary to help all our Asian members run successful business charter operations in their target markets. Rainbow Jet is a pioneer in the Chinese market and has had an impressive debut - and this new agreement with Shell certainly adds to our momentum in China," said Gregory Kalinin, general manager, Bombardier Flexjet Asia-Pacific.

"We've done very well in our first nine months of operation; in fact, exceeding many of our internal expectations. This especially applies to Northern Asia where so many U.S. and European corporations are active but, until recently, have not been able to use corporate aviation to conduct and grow their business in the manner to which they're accustomed. This is now changing," observed Mr. Kalinin.
