This follows an earlier announcement by the CAAC on November 24, 2004 advising Shandong Airlines could resume scheduled flight operations with their two Bombardier CRJ700 70-passenger aircraft.

The CAAC has conducted thorough maintenance and safety checks of the CRJ200 fleet in China and their decision to reinstate scheduled service clearly demonstrates their confidence in the Bombardier CRJ200's safety and performance capabilities. The Bombardier CRJ has one of the best safety records of any commercial aircraft since entering revenue service in 1992. There are over 1,100 Bombardier CRJ aircraft operating with 39 operators worldwide and these aircraft have continued in airline service during this period without disruption.

Bombardier technical personnel continue to assist the CAAC, the Transport Safety Board of Canada, Transport Canada, the NTSB NTSB
