Bombardier Announces That Horizon Air's CRJ700 Orders Now Total 30 Aircraft.

The five-aircraft order, previously unannounced and already included in the CRJ700 Series backlog of 104 firm orders, is valued at approximately $130 million US ($192 million Cdn).

The Seattle, Washington-based airline initially ordered 25 CRJ700 Series aircraft in December of 1998, stating that the CRJ700 "will be the optimum aircraft for our current jet routes and for future expansion."

Horizon Air, the sixth largest regional airline in the United States, has been a Bombardier Aerospace, Regional Aircraft customer since 1985 when it placed an order for 10 Dash 8(R) Series 100 aircraft plus 10 options. Horizon currently has 40 Dash 8 aircraft, including 28 Noise and Vibration Suppression (NVS NVS - Non-Volatile Storage ) system-equipped Q200* Series. Horizon Air will place its first CRJ700 Series aircraft into commercial service in the first quarter of 2001, and will be the first carrier to operate Bombardier's two new 70-seat aircraft.
