Bomb hoax.


A MAN arrested over a suspected bomb hoax at a hospital has been released without charge.

Patients were evacuated from North Tyneside General Hospital North Tyneside General Hospital is part of Northumbria NHS Trust. It is closely associated with Wansbeck General Hospital in Ashington. It is the main hospital serving the North Tyneside area. It is located on Rake Lane, near New York in North Shields.  on Sunday after what was thought to be a suspicious package was found in the accident and emergency department.

The A&E department was evacuated for several hours while Army experts examined the package.

It was discovered not to be dangerous and all the main wards were able to stay open.

A 44-year-old man, from North Tyneside North Tyneside is a metropolitan borough of Tyne and Wear in the North East of England. Its seat is at the Town Hall, Wallsend.

Created in 1974, the borough lies within the historic county boundaries of Northumberland.
, was arrested on suspicion of placing a hoax bomb with intent but today police said he would face no action.
