Boltless flat die splits hydraulically.

Taking a concept from hydraulic toggle closing for massive dies used in rubber extrusion, Extrusion Dies Industries (EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) The electronic communication of business transactions, such as orders, confirmations and invoices, between organizations. Third parties provide EDI services that enable organizations with different equipment to connect. ) LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

LLC - Logical Link Control
, Chippewa Falls, Wis., designed and built a new concept for rapidly releasing the clamp force on a flat die without bolts. It takes about a minute. The coathanger die uses hydraulics to work a toggle that turns a clamping rod with male splines. Those splines contact lugs in the die body to lock the die down. Four toggles are driven by one hydraulic cylinder. Each toggle moves two clamping rods, corresponding to two bolts spaced 3 in. apart. The device is for dies that must be cleaned often, such as those for PVC PVC: see polyvinyl chloride.
