Bolivar Goldfields Ltd. and Gran Colombia Resources Inc. announced today that they had agreed to postpone consideration of their previously announced business combination until after Bolivar completes its purchase of Monarch Resources Limited's interest in the Revemin plant located in Venezuela. Bolivar and Gran Colombia had originally announced on December 19, 1997 that they were examining the possibility of a business combination. Loewen, Ondaatje, McCutcheon Limited was then retained to provide a valuation of the assets of the two companies. Because the purchase of Revemin will close on or about May 31, 1998, Bolivar and Gran Colombia have agreed to postpone any further discussions regarding a possible business combination until the closing has taken place.
