Bogart adds to Dunphy Gymcrack domination.

AS the breeder of three Gymcrack winners and seven other finalists during its ten-year history, Sean Dunphy has built a towering record in Hall Green's juvenile showpiece, topped by his feat in breeding both winner and runner-up in the 2009 renewal.

Droopys Bogart, unbeaten in the three-rounder, made the most of trouble behind to run his opponents ragged in the pounds 10,000 decider, beating Centurion Enry by six lengths in 28.09sec (+10), the winning margin and clock being the biggest and fastest ever accomplished in the Gymcrack final, and time-wise only four spots shy of the track-record.

Trained by Liz McNair for Brendan Keogh and Simon Senyk, the August 2007 son of Droopys Scolari-Droopys Gucci has won four opens and is the second Category One winner produced by his sire, whose indigenous bloodlines provide a good cross for bitches of Australian or American ancestry.

Hedsor Chipa (Swindon Produce Stakes), Opening Artist (Wimbledon Puppy Derby), Droopys Billy (Holmes Memorial) and Wimbledon Puppy Derby finalist Droopys Hatton.

Inaugural Gymcrack winner Droopys Woods was the brood sire of Opening Artist and Droopys Billy, and he fills the same role in Droopys Bogart's pedigree, introducing the Top Honcho cross that the Dunphys laid on Droopys Fergie, one of their most fruitful broods.

It comes to Droopys Bogart's pedigree via Droopys Gucci, a Dunphy acquisition who showed no outstanding merit during her career in graded company at Sheffield under Barrie Draper's tutelage. An A3 sort over the standard 500m, often seen on Bags cards, she won a handful of races but found the 30 seconds barrier too hard to break unless aided by fast going.

Her debut litter by Yeah Man was not calculated to make her reputation in the breeding paddocks, but Droopys Scolari remedied that situation by providing her with the Gymcrack victor in a batch of seven that also featured the Ladbrokes Summer Festival 416 winner Droopys Cadel.

Her third litter was by Westmead Joe, another Larkhill Jo line sire, and consisted of six pups whelp in October 2008.

Granddam She Knew, a halfsister to Derby second He Knows, was a prolific dam of winners, who crossed with Droopys Woods's litter-brother Droopys Vieri to produce Farloe Verdict..
