IONA(R), the leading e-Business Platform provider for Web Services Integration(TM) (NASDAQ: IONA), today announced that Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), an operating group of The Boeing Company, the largest aerospace company in the world, (NYSE: BA), has issued a Statement of Direction naming IONA's Orbix E2A(TM) Web Services Integration Platform as a preferred integration technology. This Statement of Direction is a notice to development groups at Commercial Airplanes that IONA's technology has demonstrated its performance and scalability in the Boeing environment, and therefore is strongly recommended for use on internal projects. Boeing has signed an enterprise development and runtime license agreement with IONA for use of both the Orbix E2A Web Services Integration Platform and the Orbix E2A Application Server Platform.
