Gene Logic Inc. (Nasdaq:GLGC), a leading provider of genomic information, announced today that Boehringer Ingelheim International GmbH, a member of the international Boehringer Ingelheim group of pharmaceutical companies headquartered in Ingelheim, Germany, has subscribed to multiple segments of Gene Logic's GeneExpress(R) Suite of databases for use in their drug discovery and development programs.

Financial terms of the multi-year subscription were not disclosed.

Under the terms of the GeneExpress(R) subscription, Boehringer Ingelheim will subscribe to two elements of the GeneExpress(R) Suite: the BioExpress(TM) Module and the ToxExpress(TM) Module. The BioExpress(TM) Module consists of gene expression and associated information from a broad range of normal and diseased human tissues, tissues from model animal systems and human and animal cell lines for use in target identification and target validation studies. The ToxExpress(TM) Module is a reference library of toxicity markers derived from examination of known toxic compounds across diseased and normal human tissues, research cell lines, and animal model systems (rat and mouse). The ToxExpress(TM) Module is used for prioritizing candidate compounds currently under development. The subscription agreement provides for broad deployment of both segments of the GeneExpress(R) Suite and its related GX2000(TM) software tools across Boehringer Ingelheim's global research and development infrastructure.
