The plant in Biberach is the largest bio-pharmaceutical production plant in Europe. The integrated process control system helps Boehringer Ingelheim to capture and manage information to safeguard and increase quality, safety, productivity, profitability and overall operational effectiveness. The scope of this project is significant. While a typical batch installation is up to 200 phases, the new Boehringer Ingelheim facility runs more than 2,000 phases.
