BodyScan Imaging LLC Announces Purchase of Second Imatron EBT Scanner; Scanner to Be Located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

IRVINE, Calif.--(BW HealthWire)--Dec. 15, 2000

BodyScan Imaging LLC, as trustee for Heart Imaging LLC, announced today that it has purchased its second Electron Beam Tomography Electron beam tomography is a specific form of computed axial tomography (CAT or CT) in which the X-Ray tube is not mechanically spun in order to rotate the source of X-Ray photons.  (EBT) scanner from Imatron Inc., to be placed in Scottsdale, Arizona. This EBT system sale will be reflected in Imatron's fourth quarter financial results.

Heart Imaging LLC will provide imaging services to detect coronary artery disease coronary artery disease, condition that results when the coronary arteries are narrowed or occluded, most commonly by atherosclerotic deposits of fibrous and fatty tissue. , carotid artery disease, lung cancer and osteoporosis. In addition, Heart Imaging LLC will offer heart, lung and full body scans and Electron Beam Angiography (EBA).
