Body on beach IS Jean.
THE SKELETON found in a shallow grave on a beach two months ago was IRA victim Jean McConville, Gardai confirmed last night.
A senior officer phoned Mrs McConville's family to say they could finally arrange to bury their mother - 31 years after she was killed.
The mother-of-10's body was discovered last August on Shelling Hill beach near Carlingford, Co Louth.
A Garda spokeswoman said last night: "We can confirm from DNA tests that it is Jean McConville's body."
Jean, 37, was abducted a month after she helped a wounded soldier at Belfast's Divis Flats.
Jean's daughter Jean McKendry, 46, said: "This news was meant to be a relief and in a way of course it is.
Jean's son Michael hit out at the IRA yesterday saying: "They murdered her for nothing and then tried to smear her.
"I want them to apologise for what they did."
