The brothers were travelling with their parents Ronnie and Winnie at the time of the incident, which occurred after the two men walked beyond warning signs.

After the tragedy, rescuers were able to retrieve the body of Ashish, but said it was too dangerous at the time to dig through the ice to find his brother.

Their parents arrived back home in Melbourne with Ashish's body on Wednesday night.

Authorities launched an aerial search after finding a red cap on a riverbed about 500 metres from the glacier glacier, moving mass of ice that survives year to year, formed by the compacting of snow into névé and then into granular ice and set in motion outward and downward by the force of gravity and the stress of its accumulated mass. .

New Zealand police said Akshay was found lying on his back with his arms by his side, although it was not yet possible to know the extent of his injuries.

The Courier Mail quoted Clara Fernandes, an aunt of the dead men, as saying that that both now would be buried together side by side. (ANI)
