Body in quarry on coastal pathway.

A BODY was recovered from a disused quarry on the Little Orme The Little Orme is known in Welsh as Rhiwledyn and is 141 metres (or 463 feet) in height. It is one of two headlands that are situated at either end of Llandudno Bay, in North Wales. The other, larger, headland is the Great Orme.  last night.

The discovery of the body sparked a huge police operation.

At one stage there were about five police vehicles at the scene along with scenes of crime and detectives.

The Police helicopter was also in use.

North Wales North Wales (known in some archaic texts as Northgalis) is the northernmost unofficial region of Wales, bordered to the south by Mid Wales and to the east by England.  Ambulance were alerted by police to attend about 4.20pm.

But after about 50 minutes were sent away because they were not needed.

The discovery was made near a coastal path at the disused quarry on the Little Orme at Penrhyn Bay Coordinates:  Penrhyn Bay (Welsh: Bae Penrhyn) is a small town on the north Wales coast, within the parish or community of Llandudno and part of the ecclesiastical parish of Llanrhos.  near Angel Bay.

Although the area was taped off and treated as a crime scene it is not known whether the incident was a crime or an accident.

Seven members of the Llandudno Coastguard coastal rescue team were called to the scene.

The men are all trained experts in recovery and have specialist ropes and stretchers available.

It is believed by 8pm they had recovered a body, it is not known whether it was male or female.
