POLICE forensic teams were last night probing the mystery deaths of a man and a woman after their bodies were found in a flat in Edinburgh's upmarket up·mar·ket

The corpses were named locally as Brian and Valerie Rockall from Dean Path, thought to be mother and son.

It was claimed last night that police were treating one of the deaths as murder and the other as a suicide - but Lothian and Borders Police Lothian and Borders Police is the police force for the Scottish council areas of the City of Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian, Scottish Borders and West Lothian. Neighbours said Mrs Rockall was aged 80 and Brian was aged 44.

Both bodies were removed from the flats, which are close to Princes Street, late yesterday afternoon.
