Boca Research surfs the Internet "Wave" with Internet Phone from VocalTec.

BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 5, 1995--Boca Research Inc. (NASDAQ:BOCI) Tuesday announced an agreement with VocalTec Inc. under which Boca Research will bundle the full, unlimited-use version of Internet Phone software with its newest SoundExpression 28.8Kbps VoiceView and Digital Simultaneous Voice and Data (DSVD) products.

Additionally, under a special agreement with VocalTec, all of Boca's other 14.4Kbps and 28.8Kbps modem products will include a special offer coupon entitling the customer to buy Internet Phone at a special promotional price. SoundExpression products transform an ordinary PC into a complete multimedia communications workstation providing high-speed data/fax modem, voicemail, full duplex speakerphone, SRS Labs' 3-D Surround Sound, and VoiceView, all on a single PC card.

And now with the use of VocalTec's Internet Phone an Internet surfer using the new SoundExpression will be able to talk to the other Internet Phone users, as though making a standard phone call, anywhere in the world.

A registration code coupon will ship with these products which, when activated, will enable the redeemer to free access and unlimited use of VocalTec's software.

All other 14.4Kbps and 28.8Kbps BocaModems will ship with a special offer coupon which gives the consumer instructions to download a free time-limited trial of Internet Phone. As part of the agreement with VocalTec, the coupon also entitles the Boca customer to purchase Internet Phone at a special promotional price directly from VocalTec.
