The Global Village SuperDrive 2X will ship in the ice color to match any of the new Power Mac(TM) G3 or iMac computers. The SuperDrive 2X reads cost-effective 120 MB disks, as well as standard 1.4 MB HD 3.5-inch diskettes, and has a transfer rate twice as fast as a 1X SuperDisk(TM) drive. This makes an ideal disk drive choice for graphic artists, service bureaus, or anyone who may need to read files from a floppy diskette, in addition to archiving or sharing large files. The suggested retail price of the SuperDrive 2X is $169.99 and it is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 1999 through Apple distributors, retailers, and catalog outlets in the United States and Canada.

The SuperDrive 2X disk drive will be shipped with everything needed for the iMac and Power Mac G3 computers, including a free 120 MB SuperDisk. The product is supported by a one-year limited warranty Limited warranty

. Special media bundles and pricing will be made available to Global Village customers. Expected system requirements for the SuperDrive 2X are Mac(R) OS 8.1, a USB port, a CD-ROM drive, and a minimum of 16 MB of RAM and 5 MB of hard disk space.
