Boca Global to Ship Turbo USB I/O Card; Turbo Charged I/O Card Upgrades PCs to Support USB Devices.

Boca Global, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Boca Research, Inc. (Nasdaq:BOCI), today announced that its Turbo USB--a PCI, dual-port USB (Universal Serial Bus) I/O card for Windows(R)-based personal computers--will be shipping next month. The Turbo USB is designed to work with the universal PCI interface, and virtually all Pentium PCs ship with an open PCI slot.

USB ports are up to 100 times faster than serial or parallel ports and can connect up to 127 separate USB devices to a single machine. The Turbo USB features a standard interface for USB port devices, such as digital joysticks, digital cameras, scanners, printers, MP3 players, storage devices, and video capture devices. Additionally, the Turbo USB's convenient hot-swapping feature allows the user to attach or remove USB devices without having to turn the system off.

Because USB support is built into Windows(R) 95 OSR2, Windows 98, and Windows 2000, no installation software is required. The Turbo USB allows easy installation in minutes using simple Plug and Play connectivity and offers both full-speed (12 Mbps) and low-speed (1.5 Mbps) data transfer modes.

The Turbo USB will be available through computer catalogs and online resellers, as well as selected computer retail stores. The suggested retail price (SRP) is $34.99.
