Bobit acquires "Precision Engine" magazine.

Bobit Business Media (Torrance, CA) has acquired "Precision Engine" magazine from DCM Associates (Creston, OH). No terms of the deal were given.

"Precision Engine" is published six times a year and distributed on a controlled basis to 20,000 owners and managers of custom engine builders, performance/race engine rebuilders, jobber machine shops, production engine rebuilders and automotive aftermarket industry distributors. Editorial provides practical tips, techniques and advice for improving business and shop productivity with coverage of automobile engines, performance engines, marine engines, small engines and heavy-duty engines.

Bobit said the title becomes a part of its Automotive Aftermarket group, a unit that also produces "Auto Trim & Restyling News," "Mobile Electronics," "Modern Tire Dealer" and "Truck & SUV Performance." With the addition of "Precision Engine," Bobit now produces 25 titles in five groups, including seven magazines in the Automotive unit ("Automotive Fleet," "Government Fleet," etc.), two titles in its Beauty group ("Nails" and "VietSalon"), three titles in its Ground Transportation group ("Metro," "School Bus Fleet" and LCT"), and three magazines in its Protection unit ("Police Magazine," "Campus Safety" and "Security Sales & Integration").
