EUROPEAN football makes a return to Craven Cottage History
Pre-Fulham
The original 'Cottage' was built in 1780, by William Craven, the sixth Baron Craven and was located on the centre circle of the pitch. At the time, the surrounding areas were woods which made up part of Anne Boleyn's hunting grounds.
after a seven-year absence this evening and Fulham will expect a night of celebration after last Thursday's first-leg victory at FK Vetra.

Despite taking a comfortable 3-0 lead into the game, Fulham boss Roy Hodgson Roy Hodgson (born August 9, 1947) is an English football manager. He is currently the head coach of the Finnish national team.

Hodgson is probably best known for guiding the Swiss national team to the 1994 World Cup and Euro 1996; before that Switzerland had not qualified
will show his opponents the upmost respect and won't be taking anything for granted. The Cottagers are 1-7 to build on their aggregate lead and are sure to be going for the win.

Simon Davies Simon Davies may refer to:
  • Simon Davies (footballer born 1979), current Fulham F.C. player
  • Simon Davies (footballer born 1974), former Manchester United F.C. player
  • Simon Davies (British TV Presenter)
is still sidelined with a foot injury, but Dickson Etuhu should return in place of Chris Baird. That looks likely to be the only change as Bobby Zamora is set to play alongside Andy Johnson up front again.

Zamora seems to be staying put in London as any possible move to Hull City appears to have disappeared. The former Spurs and West Ham man still has a point to prove after a disappointing first season saw him net just four times in 41 appearances.

But since turning down a pounds 40,000-a-week contract at the KC Stadium, Zamora has scored three goals in two games to help him in his attempt to win over the sceptics at Craven Cottage.

In that form, he is good value at 5-1 with Coral to open the scoring tonight, as he did in the first leg of this tie.

This is the furthest that FK Vetra have ever advanced in European competition and Fulham should provide a stern defensive test for them - the Cottagers managed to keep 15 clean sheets last season and goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has kept the opposition out in his last three pre-season matches.

The Lithuanians are flying high in their domestic league with just one defeat in 15 games, but the first-leg result showed the gulf in class they face again tonight. Recommendation B Zamora first goalscorer 1pt 5-1 Coral
