Bob fixes a date for fans; One of the world's most popular children's TV characters is on Tyneside this week, as Entertainment Editor GORDON BARR reports.

CAN Bob fix it? Yes he can!

Celebrating his 10th anniversary this year, Bob the Builder's Live Show, Spud's Big Mess, returns to Tyneside from tomorrow for a run of shows.

It is at the Playhouse Whitley Bay Whitley Bay, town (1991 pop. 36,040), North Tyneside metropolitan district, NE England, on the North Sea. Formerly the urban district of Whitley and Monkseaton, Whitley Bay was chartered as a municipal borough in 1954.  tomorrow, followed by a show at the Metro Radio Metro Radio is an Independent Local Radio station broadcasting to North East England. Its output is principally contemporary pop and dance music. It is owned by EMAP and is part of their Big City Network of stations.  Arena in Newcastle on Saturday.

The Playhouse, which is sponsored by the Evening Chronicle The Evening Chronicle is a daily, evening newspaper produced in Newcastle upon Tyne, covering Tyne and Wear, southern Northumberland and northern County Durham. It was founded in 1885 by Joseph Cowan. , will host two afternoon shows, while the arena's show replaces two originally booked in for The Journal Tyne Theatre.

The producers of Bob the Builder <noinclude></noinclude> <noinclude></noinclude> Bob the Builder is a children's television character created by Keith Chapman. Bob appears as a construction contractor in a stop motion animated programme with his colleague Wendy, various neighbours  Spud's Big Mess announced that due to unforeseen technical difficulties, it was no longer possible to stage the two full shows as scheduled at Tyne Theatre for Sunday.

Rather than disappoint audiences by producing a diminished show, they took the difficult decision to cancel the performances at that venue. But to help avoid disappointment they secured the Metro Radio Arena for this Saturday. The show will be performed in an intimate theatre format for a single 2.30pm show, doors will open at 1.30pm.

There will be free parking, and a free soft drink for children.

Bob the Builder will be thrilling audiences with children able to sing along with characters such as Wendy, Spud, Scoop, Dizzy, Scrambler and many more in Sunflower Valley.

Bob the Builder was first created in 1999 by Keith Chapman, and today is one of the world's most successful pre-school brands.

Now broadcast in over 250 countries in 45 languages worldwide and aired on CBeebies in the UK since 1999, Bob has won hearts of young children everyone.

Children will be able watch Bob with his trusted and hardworking team build a new eco-centre and wind farm in Sunflower Valley. Everyone pitches in to help but when items and Bob's trusty team start to go missing can the eco-centre and wind farm be finished in time? Can Bob fix it? Yes he can!

This critically-acclaimed show is full of fun, packed with catchy tunes and provides and educational message to help children learn about caring for the environment, recycling and of course teamwork.
