Boardwalk Pipeline Partners Announces Open Season to Evaluate Demand for Additional Firm Storage Service.

OWENSBORO, Ky. -- Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, LP (NYSE: BWP) announced today that its subsidiary, Texas Gas Transmission, LLC, is initiating a third expansion of its market area storage.

Texas Gas is holding an open season for firm storage service to accommodate new gas supplies from the Rocky Mountains, the Mid-Continent and Canada, in addition to traditional supply areas, and to respond to continued interest in market area storage services.

During the past three years, Texas Gas has conducted two successful storage open seasons which will increase Texas Gas' working gas capacity by 17.5 TBtu. On Nov. 1, 2005, an 8.2 TBtu storage expansion was placed into service. Texas Gas filed a certificate application earlier this year for a 9.3 TBtu storage expansion with an anticipated in-service date of November 1, 2007.

For the third phase of its storage expansion, Texas Gas is proposing to drill more wells, install compression and install pipeline looping to provide up to an additional 113,900 MMBtu per day and store on a seasonal basis up to an additional 10.25 TBtu of natural gas.

Depending upon market response and regulatory approvals of the proposed project, construction would take place during the spring and summer of 2008, with service beginning Nov. 1, 2008.

The open season for firm storage service began Nov. 6, 2006, and ends at 5 p.m. CT, Friday, Dec. 15, 2006.

Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, LP is a master limited partnership engaged through its subsidiaries, Texas Gas Transmission, LLC and Gulf South Pipeline Company, LP, in the interstate transportation and storage of natural gas. Boardwalk's two interstate natural gas pipeline systems have approximately 13,470 miles of pipeline and underground storage fields with aggregate working gas capacity of approximately 146 Bcf.
