It is named for the Choctaw tribe of American Indians, though most of those which resided here were removed to Oklahoma.[1] As of 2000 the population was 15,922. The 1.6 Bcf/d of committed capacity to Transco Station 85 includes 560,000 Mcf/d to be transported from the Perryville, Louisiana and Harrisville, Mississippi Harrisville, Mississippi (zip code 39082; area code 601) is a small community located south of Florence, which is about 25 miles from Jackson. It sits mainly on Highway 469 and connects to D'Lo and Pinola. Harrisville is located in Simpson County, Mississippi.  areas to Transco Station 85 on the previously announced Southeast Expansion being undertaken by the Company's Gulf South Pipeline Company subsidiary and 1,040,000 Mcf/d to be transported from various receipt points in Texas and Oklahoma to Transco Station 85 on the Company's previously announced Gulf Crossing Pipeline project (Gulf Crossing). The foundation shippers on Gulf Crossing also have an option to commit for an additional 350,000 Mcf/d of capacity on Gulf Crossing from Texas or Oklahoma to Transco Station 85, the exercise of which would increase the Company's committed capacity to Transco Station 85 to approximately 2.0 Bcf/d. In addition, as previously announced, Gulf Crossing has commenced a binding open season for additional capacity on that project.

The Company also announced that, as reflected in the certificate filing that Gulf South made with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is the United States federal agency with jurisdiction over electricity sales, wholesale electric rates, hydroelectric licensing, natural gas pricing, and oil pipeline rates.  on December 11, 2006 regarding the construction of its Southeast Expansion, it expects that project to be in service and transporting gas to Transco Station 85 early in 2008.

As previously announced, the Gulf Crossing project contemplates the construction of a new 355 mile, 42 inch interstate pipeline beginning in Sherman, Texas and ending at Perryville, Louisiana and a lease of capacity on the Company's Gulf South system, including its Southeast expansion, from Perryville to Transco Station 85. The Southeast Expansion project will be an extension of the Company's Gulf South system consisting of approximately 110 miles of 42 inch pipeline beginning near Harrisville, Mississippi and terminating at Transco Station 85. Each of these projects is subject to FERC FERC Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
