Boards working down debt help NCB's record numbers.

"Financing activity during November again saw record numbers, thanks in part to two major first mortgages for cooperatives in the area," stated Howe, managing director of the NCB New York office.

"New York area Boards continue to move ahead to decrease existing debt and underwrite capital improvements projects through our competitive financing options."

NCB's senior vice president Mindy Goldstein originated a total of $17.6 million in loans in November, including a $16 million first mortgage and a $500,000 line of credit for Cherokee Owners Corp., a 383-unit co-op located at 509/515 East 77th Street; 517/523 East 77th Street; 508/514 East 78th Street; 516/522 East 78th Street in Manhattan.

Sheldon Gartenstein, NCB's senior vice president, arranged a total of $57.6 million in loans during November, including the largest deal of the month, a $33 million first mortgage and a $1 million line of credit for North Isle Village, a 767-unit co-op located at 50 Gibbs Road in Coram, NY.

Howe arranged a total of $19 million in loans during November, including a $5.6 million first mortgage and a $500,000 line of credit for Morton-Barrow Owners Corp., a 169-unit condo located at 63-69 Morton Street/ 83-89 Barrow Street in Manhattan.
